Dota 2 Concert in Shanghai Major

2016-02-21 【字号:

Following the live orchestra performance of Dota 2 music at The International 2015, a brand new Dota 2 Concert will be presented on March 6th, the Final Day of Shanghai Major. As one of the compendium stretch goals of the Dota 2 Asia Championship 2015 organized by Perfect World last year, Dota 2 Concert will be conducted by Tim Larkin from Valve, and produced and performed by VGL (Video Games Live).

Tim Larkin has created many pieces of Dota 2 music, and VGL, one of the most popular and successful video game concert in the world, presents the infinite charisma of game music on the stage. This time, Dota 2 Concert also features Chinese traditional musical instruments and special edition of music for Shanghai Major to present a wonderful combination of western and eastern culture.

In the concert, six pieces will be performed.

  【1. Call to Arms】
This piece contains the opening music of The International 2014 and 2015, as well as the first dashboard music when you enter the game.

  【2. Shifting Snow】
Music from Greeviling trailer and update as well as one of the revolving dashboard pieces.

  【3. Spoils of War】
This has mostly battle music combined with Roshan music and several laning pieces including one that was only in game for a very short period of time during beta.

  【4. Reborn】
The most recent piece featuring the music from the DOTA Reborn update last spring. Currently nominated for a G.A.N.G. award for Best Original Song: Choral.

  【5. First Blood】
This piece has been performed before with VGL. It contains the music from the DOTA trailer as well as one of the dashboard pieces.

  【6. ???】
This is a mystical piece which will make its début in live orchestra.
