Dota 2 Shanghai Major 2016, presented by Perfect World, will be held during March 2nd to March 6th at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, Shanghai, with a total prize pool of $3,000,000. 16 top teams all over the world will compete in the tournament for the very first champion of Shanghai Major.

The format of Shanghai Major 2016:
【Group Stage Feb 25-28】
16 teams will be divided into 4 groups to have qualification matches. Top two teams of each group advance to Upper Bracket of the main event while the other two teams advance to Lower Bracket. You can view schedule and brackets here.
【Main Event Mar 2-6】
16 teams compete in a five-day double elimination tournament, with 8 teams in the Upper Bracket and 8 teams in the Lower Bracket. The first and second round of Lower Bracket is Best of One, Grand Final is Best of Five, others are Best of Three.
